Amman, Mar. 20 (Petra)-- Mohammad Al-Qur'an- Jordanians across the Kingdom performed Eid Al-Fitr prayer on Friday morning in mosques nationwide, in a spiritual atmosphere filled with joy, tranquility, and strong public participation.

Mosques were filled to capacity as worshipers gathered from the early hours, chanting praises and expressions of gratitude to celebrate the holiday.

Minister of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs, Mohammad Al-Khalaileh, performed the Eid prayer at King Abdullah I Mosque, attended by officials and large numbers of worshipers.

In his sermon, Al-Khalaileh highlighted that Eid embodies values of joy, mercy, and tolerance, calling for strengthening solidarity and social cohesion, and adhering to the true teachings of Islam in dealing with others.

He urged maintaining family ties, supporting the poor and those in need, and continuing charitable acts, while promoting love, harmony, and forgiveness within society.

The minister also addressed the situation in the Islamic world, condemning the closure of Al-Aqsa Mosque to worshipers, and stressing the importance of protecting Islamic holy sites. He called for prayers for Palestinians, particularly in Gaza, amid the difficult humanitarian conditions, urging an end to the aggression and relief for civilians.

Additionally, Al-Khalaileh warned against the dangers of drug abuse, describing it as a serious threat to individuals and society.

He emphasized the need for joint efforts by families, educational institutions, and religious bodies to raise awareness, prevent its spread, and reinforce moral values among youth.

He also prayed for the continued health and well-being of His Majesty King Abdullah II and His Royal Highness Crown Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah II, wishing Jordan ongoing security, stability, and prosperity.

The minister encouraged people to express joy during the Eid days, exchange greetings, and spread positivity, noting that such practices strengthen social bonds and unity.

Following the prayer, citizens exchanged Eid greetings and visited relatives, reflecting the deep-rooted Jordanian traditions and the spirit of solidarity and social cohesion that defines the occasion.
